Edward Thompson's Motocross Pictures Page
Here's cousin Tim, #433, heading into the first turn at Malvern. Number 825 on the left is a boy who placed 4th in the 60cc class at Loretta Lynn's Amature National Championships this year. Every now and then Tim can hold him off for a lap or two and I really get a kick out of it when he can.
A picture of Tim about to get the Holeshot.
Just like his older brother, my cousin Tim loves to jump. Here he is showing off a little bit for the crowd. This year he won the 80cc jumping contest at Ohio International Raceway.
Tim's one of those kids who will race anything that will run. Here's Tim on my Vintage Bike. Vintage in Motorcross is any bike 20 years or older, in this case a 1974 Suzuki TM100. I brought my Vintage bike for one race where quads were not allowed (I normally race quads), and decided that it was too muddy for me to have fun, and Tim wanted to race it when I dropped out. Since then, he will race it in Vintage (20 years or older) or Bomber (10 years or older) class whenever I bring it to the races. It's under powered and has no suspension to speak of, but it doesn't seem to bother Tim.
Here's Tim battling it out with a small pack of Bomber riders.
Here's Tim jumping my Vintage bike. It amazes me how hard he lands with that Vintage bike and it doesn't bother him. The old bikes have the under slung exhaust pipe and Tim has almost squashed my bike's pipe flat.
