UPDATE:  10-17-2008

Deciduous ForestWhen first setting up this web camera,  I never imagined it would receive world wide visitors which is silly since it is being broadcasted on the World Wide Web.   With the range of international visitors, I  decided to share a bit about where this particular camera is located.  I  live in Hide-A-Way Hills, Ohio which is located in the United States of America. My home is in the Southeast section of the state in the middle of forest land, although we are officially about 10 miles from Wayne National Forest, the only national forest located in Ohio.  The trees surrounding the cam are deciduous so they will change colors in the Autumn and eventually they will fall to the ground.  The map to the right shows how rare these forest are in relation to the rest of the world's environment.

Average temps this time of year range from 45-60 degrees Fahrenheit.  As of this note, we have just received our first freeze warning.  Winter is no doubt on its way.

At this time,  I am setting out seed filled suet blocks, black sunflower seeds, thistle, and cracked corn.  The cracked corn is being used to attract my prized visitors, the white tail deer.  I am also making sure fresh water is available.

Since the camera's inception, the view has caught many a songbird.  Thus far, I have spotted many American Gold Finches, Titmice, Black Capped Chickadees, Cardinals, Purple Finches, and even a lone Towhee.  The camera has also caught 2 visits of a female White Tail deer and what appears to be two of her young.

While I certainly can't watch the view constantly, I invite visitors to use the snap shot button located at the top of the camera view to catch a still frame and email me any pictures of note.  Heck, feel free to drop me an email and tell me where you're located.  It would be a treat to create a map of the visitors' locations that have viewed the camera.

Until my next update, Belinda
